Summer has always been my favorite season.  I love hot weather and I love the idea of going on vacation or just sitting by the pool.  But in the summertime I always get so lazy.  I think the mindset I had when I was a kid and off from school sinks back in…the idea that school is out so I can turn off my brain until August.

Each week since the beginning of “summer vacation” (which I don’t really get at all) I’ve been getting less and less done.  I had huge plans for this summer…I would have a little extra time when students were out of town and I would use that time to accomplish all the things I don’t usually have time for.  I would get my Arabic textbook out and study, read some of the books that have just been collecting dust on my bookshelf since I bought them, workout every day.  Most importantly, I would really seriously start working on my piano tuning course and complete it by the end of the summer.  As of this morning, I haven’t even taken the top off the piano, much less tuned anything.

A whole month of summer is nearly gone, so I’m going to get to work starting today!  Hold me to that…
