phone phobia April 26, 2007
Does anyone else have this problem? I’m sitting here with the phone poised to call and cancel my old health insurance since I’m on Thomas’ account now, but I’m frozen in fear. I’m not sure what’s so scary about it. Maybe the thought that I might not say the right thing and will make a fool of myself (to a person who I will never meet face to face). Maybe not knowing who will pick up on the other end. I’ve really got my fingers crossed that it will go to voicemail and I can just leave a message. For some reason that’s not scary to me. I can script that…plan out exactly what I’m going to say. Argh. This is so frustrating!
If you have the same problem, please let me know that I’m not alone.
ok, haven’t we’ve had discussions about our phone anxiety before? sarahL has it too…and i think amy.
maybe everyone!!!
I definitely have issues with the phone too. You’re not alone!
Is it normal *not* to have this with every phone call? I even dislike *getting* phone calls. This applies to other communication, such as email and IM too.
(Perhaps this is why I barely ever talk to anyone.)
I do really enjoy talking to friends and family despite all this though. (:
Oh! I’m so glad I’m not the only one!
Thanks for all the solidarity, guys. It’s nice to not feel alone.
